A Pieced Border

I just couldn't leave it alone.  What I initially thought I would use as a border did not work.  It competed with the tulips.  A definite deal breaker!  And while I like the quilt without a border I just wasn't ready for it be done.....So here it is.

I can't tell you how pleased I am with how it has turned out!  this quilt went together a lot faster than I thought it would.  I even have the back pieced.  Now if I could just find a chunk of time to get it pin basted.  Somehow I think I am going to find some.....

Happy sewing!

Listening to your quilt

This quilt is definitely talking to me.

Besides singing opera to  me, I think it is telling me it is done.  Here is the problem.  I want to put a border on it but so far I haven't been able to make it work.  I'm not done trying and I will definitely let you know how it is going.

This is my baby on this quilt.  He thought this was much funnier than I thought it was.  But guess what?  He has no idea that I am posting this pic.  And I am giggling as I'm typing, right now.  Cause I think posting his pic is a lot funnier than he is going to think it is.  And I do love him almost as much as I love this quilt.....   ;)

Mug Rug Madness

These mug rugs are seriously addictive!  You cannot make just one (as you can see).

The cuteness factor of these babies is off the charts!

Making these mug rugs was more fun than the law should allow!

Still Pluggin Away

I'm still plugging away on my Trees quilt.  Little by little, it is coming together.  Who knows, maybe I will be able to get the borders on it this week......"God willing and the creek don't rise!"
I have to say, putting the last inner border on has been some peaceful and easy sewing.  The end is in sight!

Piecing this quilt has been a journey.  There are a whole lot of emotions sewn into this baby.  I'm ready to have this top finished and to move on to the quilting.
Happy Monday!

A Little Independent Sewing

Happy 4th!

What better way to celebrate but to start the day with a little sewing.

I have been away from my blog for an extended period of time.  In fact I haven't done any significant sewing in over a year.

Life "happened" to me in a big way the last few of years.  I got divorced, went back to work full time, lost my daddy and a job, got a new job, had my heart broken, picked myself back up and found a way to be happy.
And I'm here to tell you that going through hard stuff does make you strong in the end but going through it does suck.

This quilt has been a work in progress for way too long.  I'm thinking I need to finish it.

Happy sewing today!
