I do LOVE it!

I love this little quilt! I was inspired by Nichi's quilt.  I just used scraps and it took my maybe an hour put this little top together.  The perfect project for "itchy fingers" sewing.  Once it was quilted, I added hand embroidery to the letters.  It's so cute!  Just looking at it makes me smile.  It was a fast, fun, easy project.  And what is not to love about LOVE?  It makes the world go round!

Happy sewing!

Another Collaboration

Another collaboration- One of my dearest and oldest friends came to stay with me for a sewing weekend last month.  We have been friends since before we could drive.  We have been through marriages, births, deaths, divorces, good times and bad together.  This is the project she made.  Kim is not a quilter but she has been sewing since she was a kid and her mother was an excellent seamstress.  Looks great doesn't it!

I quilted it for her and will send it to her birthday.  I was a GREAT WEEKEND!

A Little Something for V

A little something for my friend V.  The bird is a drawing of Victoria's.  It was embroidered by my mother and pieced and machine quilted by yours truly.  If you are thinking to yourself, "it looks a little crooked."  It is!  One of those accidents when you are trying to sew and talk on the phone at the same time.   The cool part is Victoria (like myself) likes "a little crooked".  Hey what can I say, "great minds think alike".

Happy sewing and try and get a little crooked.

Authentic, A Gift

photo (1)

I love making these words on fabric.  This particular word describes it’s recipient perfectly.  It is a beautiful and powerful quilt.

photo (3)

I used  a red thread for my machine applique and I quilted it with a dark green.  It gives this quilt a very very nice look.

And the person that received this was surprised and very pleased.  So if you need a gift for a person who has “everything”, try making them a word.

Happy Sewing!
